Hal Chappelear
Hal Chappelear is a native of Greenville, South Carolina. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the Medical University of South Carolina’s School of Pharmacy and a Doctor of Laws (honoris causa) from the University of Maryland Baltimore with additional postgraduate work in psychology and economics at Jacksonville University and the University of Florida. Hal became a member of the Upjohn Company’s (now Pfizer) management ranks in 1967 and throughout the years, held numerous positions which included responsibility for North American Operations, Worldwide Marketing Support, and External Affairs. He retired from Upjohn in 1992, as a Corporate Executive Vice President. As a Principal of InternaSource, Hal serves as a private consultant for small businesses, and religious and academic institutions. Hal Chappelear and his wife Billie currently reside in Annapolis, Maryland. They have two children: Alan Todd (deceased) and Amy Elizabeth.

Kate Noonan
Kate Noonan is a native of Annapolis, Maryland. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Rosemont College, a Master’s in Higher Education Administration from the University of Pennsylvania, and a PhD in Educational Psychology from the University of Houston. Kate Noonan is a collaborative, purpose-driven educational psychologist with a strong foundation of higher education experience. She is an academic administrator, teacher, mother, and life-long learner. Kate’s diverse career includes leadership roles at public and private institutions, as well as a women’s college. Her scholarship around professional identity formation, faculty-student partnerships, and student wellbeing offers student-centered insight to the learning environment and student experience. She lives in Maryland with her son and enjoys spending time with her multi-generational family/team, experiencing new places through travel, and dedicating time to continued personal growth.
Rachelle Munsey
Rachelle Munsey, a native of Northern California, is a graduate of St. John’s College, in Annapolis, Maryland, the third oldest college in the US, where all students study Ancient Greek, French, History, Politics, Law, Economics, Literature, Mathematics, Music, the Arts, the Natural Sciences, Philosophy, Theology, and Psychology in small discussion-based classes with written and oral examinations. Rachelle has relished the last several years of crafting and refining the principles of the Small Group Initiative, bringing timeless conversations to bear on current crises with her two co-authors, who she credits as powerful living examples of the humble leadership central to the project. In writing this work, she is very grateful for the support of her friend and husband Nathan, and she finds herself daily challenged by the deep wonder ever present in their daughter Ariadne.
